Times of India · environment
Farmers in two villages bordering Pench Tiger Reserve are receiving solar fencing machines to prevent crop damage by wild animals. Twenty-five machines were distributed in Thotamal and Kanhasagar villages, funded by eco-development committees using tourism and timber revenue. Pench has already distributed 1,461 machines across 90 villages, covering 2,922 hectares of farmland. Officials report potential crop-yield increases of 20% to 25% following installation, aiming to reduce financial losses and human-wildlife conflict.
