Ex-Supreme Court Judge Demands Reversal of SIR Verdict

Former Supreme Court judge V. Gopal Gowda has demanded the Supreme Court revoke its decision upholding the SIR process. Gowda stated the verdict is illegal, unconstitutional, and undemocratic, arguing it disenfranchises millions of voters. He also called for the court to summon all documents related to the SIR to verify if it had the approval of both Election Commissioners. This comes as opposition parties also protest the SIR, demanding the Chief Election Commissioner's resignation.

पूर्व सुप्रीम कोर्ट जज वी. गोपाल गौड़ा ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट से SIR प्रक्रिया को बरकरार रखने के अपने फैसले को रद्द करने की मांग की है। गौड़ा ने कहा कि यह फैसला अवैध, असंवैधानिक और अलोकतांत्रिक है, और इससे लाखों मतदाता वोट देने के अधिकार से वंचित हो जाएंगे। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि कोर्ट को SIR से संबंधित सभी दस्तावेज मंगवाकर यह जांच करनी चाहिए कि क्या इसे दोनों चुनाव आयुक्तों की मंजूरी मिली थी। यह तब हो रहा है जब विपक्षी दल भी SIR का विरोध कर रहे हैं और मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रहे हैं।
