UK Teens Recruit Children To Raise Harvest Mice For Conservation
Times of India · environment
Two 14-year-old conservationists in Devon, England, are launching an initiative called Wild Pets to help rebuild the declining population of harvest mice. They are recruiting 20 children, aged 8 to 13, to raise the tiny rodents at home. Participants will receive mice and equipment after training and aim to release 250 harvest mice by September 2027. This project, which has already released 250 mice, aims to make wildlife conservation more accessible to young people and increase the number of mice returned to suitable wild habitats.
