China Stocks Hit Over One-Year Low Amid AI Selloff; Hong Kong Rebounds

Chinese blue-chip stocks reached their lowest point in over a year on Friday, driven by an intensifying selloff in artificial intelligence supply chain shares. The CSI300 Index fell 1.3%, hitting its lowest level since August 2025, while the Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.2%. In contrast, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index saw a rebound, rising 1.1% due to gains in internet companies. Technology shares remained under pressure in mainland China, with the 5G Communication Index falling as much as 6%.
