The Hindu · india

West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya has called for a fresh Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state, asserting that the previous exercise was incomplete. He alleged that intimidation of officials and BJP workers prevented the deletion of more names from the voter list. Bhattacharya pointed to the identification of over 20 lakh fake Swasthyasathi cards as evidence supporting the need for large-scale deletions. He also commented on the Election Commission's appeals against cleared voters, suggesting potential legal questions regarding authority.
