Delhi-NCR Air Quality Dips Below 300, GRAP-1 Implemented With New Rules

Delhi-NCR's air quality has crossed the 300 AQI mark, prompting the CAQM to implement Stage-1 of the GRAP. This includes mandatory use of anti-smog guns at construction sites, intensified road sprinkling, and mechanised sweeping. Open burning of waste and use of coal/wood in tandoors are prohibited, with fines up to ₹10,000 for violations. Delhi's Environment Minister highlighted improved air quality over the past 12 years, with 30 agencies now enforcing GRAP measures.

दिल्ली-एनसीआर की हवा की क्वालिटी 300 AQI के पार चली गई है, जिसके बाद CAQM ने GRAP का स्टेज-1 लागू कर दिया है। इसमें कंस्ट्रक्शन साइट्स पर एंटी-स्मॉग गन का इस्तेमाल, सड़कों पर पानी का छिड़काव और मशीनों से झाड़ू लगाना ज़रूरी होगा। कूड़ा जलाने और तंदूर में कोयला/लकड़ी के इस्तेमाल पर रोक लगा दी गई है, और नियम तोड़ने पर 10,000 रुपये तक का जुर्माना लगेगा। दिल्ली के पर्यावरण मंत्री ने बताया कि पिछले 12 सालों में हवा की क्वालिटी सुधरी है और अब 30 एजेंसियां GRAP के नियमों को लागू कर रही हैं।
