Karnataka's ruling Congress government has admitted that calling the recent three-day legislative proceedings a "special session" was an error. Law Minister Krishna Byre Gowda clarified in the Assembly that it was an extension of the Monsoon Session, not a separate session. This clarification came after BJP members questioned the procedural basis for the designation. The proceedings were related to a debate on the Kasturirangan report and its impact on Western Ghats residents and farmers.
