The Ganesh Visarjan procession in Belagavi concluded after nearly 42 hours, marking one of the longest in the city's history. The public procession began on September 25 evening, with the final idol immersion occurring on Sunday afternoon. Over 1,056 public Ganesha mandals participated, with many celebrating the full 11-day festival. Despite police appeals for a 24-hour limit, the extended duration was attributed to factors like idol height and immersion pond capacity. Over 4,000 police personnel were deployed for security and traffic management during the event.
