TNPDCL to Outsource Meter Readings to Fix Bills

The Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation (TNPDCL) will outsource meter reading to third-party contractors starting in October to address incorrect and inflated electricity bills caused by erratic assessments. This move aims to overcome a significant shortage of assessors, with nearly 60% of the 7,565 sanctioned posts remaining vacant. Contract workers will use mobile applications for readings, ensuring accuracy and timely data collection.
