Kerala Health Minister Orders Vigilance Probe Into Irregular Furniture Purchases At Ayurveda Hospitals

Kerala's Health Minister K Muraleedharan has ordered a vigilance probe into alleged widespread irregularities in furniture purchases for government Ayurveda hospitals across the state. This decision comes after rejecting a recommendation for a less stringent departmental inquiry. The investigation will scrutinize purchases made before hospital buildings were completed, such as Rs 11.45 lakh worth of furniture at the Pinarayi hospital in Kannur. Similar rule violations are suspected at hospitals in Mattannur, Chalakudy, and Venganoor, with former National AYUSH Mission state programme manager P R Saji being a key focus.

केरल के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री के मुरलीधरन ने राज्य भर के सरकारी आयुर्वेद अस्पतालों के लिए फर्नीचर खरीद में कथित व्यापक अनियमितताओं की विजिलेंस जांच का आदेश दिया है। यह फैसला कम सख्त विभागीय जांच की सिफारिश को खारिज करने के बाद आया है। जांच में अस्पताल भवनों के पूरा होने से पहले की गई खरीद की पड़ताल की जाएगी, जैसे कन्नूर के पिनाराई अस्पताल में 11.45 लाख रुपये के फर्नीचर की खरीद। इसी तरह के नियमों के उल्लंघन का संदेह मट्टनूर, चालाकडी और वेंगानूर के अस्पतालों में भी है, जिसमें पूर्व नेशनल AYUSH मिशन राज्य कार्यक्रम प्रबंधक पी आर साजी मुख्य केंद्र में हैं।
