Biharigarh's Pakora Business Suffers As New Expressway Diverts Tourists
Times of India · business
Biharigarh, a traditional roadside stop for travellers heading to Dehradun, is experiencing a significant decline in business due to the new Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. The expressway's flyover bypasses the market, causing a drastic drop in customers for around 25 eateries. One eatery owner reported using only 3kg of potatoes daily, down from 20-25kg previously. Shopkeepers are concerned about preserving their decades-old food tradition and are seeking better access from the expressway, including parking and public facilities, to revive their businesses.
