Maharashtra Sets Phased Age Criteria For Nursery To Class 1 Admissions From 2027-28

Maharashtra has announced a phased implementation of minimum age requirements for pre-primary and Class 1 admissions, starting in the 2027-28 academic session. By 2030-31, children must be at least six years old for Class 1 entry. This revised framework will progressively introduce age requirements for Nursery, Junior KG, and Senior KG over three academic years. The move aims to create uniformity across different education boards and align with the National Education Policy 2020, addressing existing inconsistencies in admission practices.
