ECI Suspends 6 Officers, Initiates Action Against 21 Others Over Agra MLC Poll Lapses

The Election Commission of India has ordered the immediate suspension of six officers, including sector magistrates and police personnel, for supervisory lapses during the Agra Division Teachers’ constituency MLC polls. Disciplinary proceedings have also been directed against 21 other polling personnel deployed at two polling stations where repolling was conducted. The ECI noted that supervisory officers failed to ensure effective supervision and maintain proper control, deeming the dereliction of duty serious. Chargesheets are to be issued and forwarded to the ECI within 10 days, with an immediate compliance report requested.

चुनाव आयोग ने आगरा मंडल शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र एमएलसी चुनावों के दौरान पर्यवेक्षी खामियों के लिए सेक्टर मजिस्ट्रेट और पुलिस कर्मियों सहित छह अधिकारियों को तत्काल निलंबित करने का आदेश दिया है। दो मतदान केंद्रों पर पुनः मतदान कराने के लिए तैनात 21 अन्य मतदान कर्मियों के खिलाफ अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई का भी निर्देश दिया गया है। चुनाव आयोग ने कहा कि पर्यवेक्षी अधिकारियों ने प्रभावी पर्यवेक्षण सुनिश्चित करने और उचित नियंत्रण बनाए रखने में विफल रहे, जिसे कर्तव्य में घोर लापरवाही माना गया। 10 दिनों के भीतर आरोप पत्र जारी कर चुनाव आयोग को भेजे जाने हैं, और तत्काल अनुपालन रिपोर्ट मांगी गई है।
