Times of India · good-news

An initiative at the Franklin County Corrections Center in Ohio has inmates drawing portraits of shelter dogs. This unique partnership between the jail and the Franklin County Dog Shelter has proven highly effective. Within two months of starting the project, 18 out of the first 20 featured dogs were adopted. The artwork humanizes the animals, helping potential adopters connect with them beyond standard kennel information. This project also provides inmates with a sense of purpose and a link to the community.
