The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has secured a victory in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state election, according to ARD exit polls. The AfD is leading with approximately 37% of the vote, narrowly surpassing the Social Democrats (SPD), who garnered around 35.5%. The Left Party received about 7.5%.
