Flood Threat to Pedda Vagu Villages; Evacuation Ordered by Collector

Eluru District Collector K. Vetri Selvi has ordered the immediate evacuation of residents from flood-prone villages in Kukunuru and Velerupadu mandals due to massive floodwater inflow into Pedda Vagu. Heavy rainfall under the impact of Cyclone Murasu has necessitated precautionary measures and rescue operations. Several villages face the threat of inundation, and officials are directed to prioritize vulnerable groups like pregnant women, senior citizens, children, and persons with disabilities during the evacuation. Essential supplies and rescue boats are being arranged, with a strong emphasis on preventing any loss of life.

एलुरु जिला कलेक्टर के. वेट्री सेल्वी ने पेड्डा वागु में भारी मात्रा में बाढ़ के पानी के बहाव के कारण कुकुनूरु और वेलरुपाडु मंडलों के बाढ़-प्रवण गांवों के निवासियों को तत्काल खाली कराने का आदेश दिया है। साइक्लोन मुरसु के प्रभाव से भारी बारिश के कारण एहतियाती उपायों और बचाव कार्यों की आवश्यकता पड़ी है। कई गांवों में जलभराव का खतरा है, और अधिकारियों को खाली कराने के दौरान गर्भवती महिलाओं, वरिष्ठ नागरिकों, बच्चों और विकलांग व्यक्तियों जैसे कमजोर समूहों को प्राथमिकता देने का निर्देश दिया गया है। किसी भी जानमाल के नुकसान को रोकने पर जोर देने के साथ आवश्यक आपूर्ति और बचाव नौकाओं की व्यवस्था की जा रही है।
