Child Rape Case: Accomplice's Bail Denied, ₹24 Crore Bank Account Frozen

A special court in Chennai has dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of businessman Prakash Kannaiah, an alleged accomplice in child rape cases involving Gem Granites chairman R Veeramani. Investigators have frozen Kannaiah's bank account containing ₹24 crore and are examining his transaction records. The prosecution argued that granting bail would impede the ongoing probe into a significant money trail involving crores of rupees. Kannaiah, believed to be in London, had a Look Out Circular issued against him after he failed to appear for questioning.

चेन्नई की एक विशेष अदालत ने जेम ग्रेनाइट्स के चेयरमैन आर. वीरमानी से जुड़े बच्ची से रेप के मामलों में कथित साथी व्यवसायी प्रकाश कन्नैया की अग्रिम जमानत याचिका खारिज कर दी है। जांचकर्ताओं ने कन्नैया का ₹24 करोड़ वाला बैंक खाता फ्रीज कर दिया है और उसके ट्रांजैक्शन रिकॉर्ड की जांच कर रहे हैं। अभियोजन पक्ष ने दलील दी कि जमानत देने से करोड़ों रुपये के बड़े मनी ट्रेल की चल रही जांच में बाधा आएगी। माना जा रहा है कि लंदन में मौजूद कन्नैया के पूछताछ के लिए पेश न होने पर उसके खिलाफ लुक आउट सर्कुलर जारी किया गया था।
