Speeding Fortuner Kills Mother, Son Selling Sofa Covers on Ahmedabad Footpath

A speeding Fortuner allegedly driven by an intoxicated man rammed into a family selling sofa covers on a footpath in Ahmedabad's Nikol area, killing a 30-year-old woman and her 15-year-old son. The couple who had stopped to make a purchase were also seriously injured in the incident. Police recovered six beer tins from the vehicle and have taken the 36-year-old driver into custody. The incident has raised concerns about speeding and alleged late-night racing in the locality, with residents claiming police have failed to curb the menace.

अहमदाबाद के Nikol इलाके में फुटपाथ पर सोफ़ा कवर बेच रहे एक परिवार को तेज़ रफ़्तार फ़ॉर्च्यूनर ने टक्कर मार दी। इस हादसे में 30 साल की महिला और उसके 15 साल के बेटे की मौत हो गई। वे एक ख़रीदारी के लिए रुके थे। हादसे में महिला का पति और एक अन्य व्यक्ति भी गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए। पुलिस ने गाड़ी से 6 बीयर के डिब्बे बरामद किए हैं और 36 साल के ड्राइवर को हिरासत में ले लिया है। इस घटना ने इलाके में तेज़ रफ़्तार और देर रात रेसिंग को लेकर चिंता बढ़ा दी है। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि पुलिस इस समस्या को रोकने में नाकाम रही है।
