BWSSB Jurisdiction Expands to Entire Bengaluru Urban District

The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has expanded its operational jurisdiction to encompass the entire Bengaluru Urban District. Previously limited to the core city area, the BWSSB will now oversee drinking water supply and sewerage systems across five taluks and their villages. This expansion aims to address the growing urbanisation beyond the Greater Bengaluru Authority limits. A master plan will be developed for assured water and sewage infrastructure, considering future requirements and the critical need to manage groundwater exploitation.

बेंगलुरु वाटर सप्लाई एंड सीवरेज बोर्ड (BWSSB) का काम अब पूरे बेंगलुरु अर्बन डिस्ट्रिक्ट में फैल गया है। पहले यह सिर्फ शहर के अंदरूनी इलाकों तक सीमित था। अब BWSSB पांच तालुकों और उनके गांवों में पीने के पानी और सीवेज सिस्टम की देखरेख करेगा। यह कदम बेंगलुरु के बाहर बढ़ते शहरीकरण को देखते हुए उठाया गया है। भविष्य की जरूरतों और भूजल के दोहन को रोकने के लिए एक मास्टर प्लान बनेगा।
