A federal judge has declined to block President Donald Trump's executive order aimed at eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives by companies that do business with the US government. US District Judge Adam Abelson stated that groups representing university faculty and minority business owners failed to demonstrate the order was overly broad. The order prohibits "racially discriminatory DEI activities" by federal contractors, with non-compliance risking contract loss and investigations. Judge Abelson ruled that the order only prohibits conduct already illegal under federal law, such as intentional racial discrimination.
