Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, once again raising the Kashmir issue and calling for a just and fair solution. Sharif stated that the Kashmiri people have awaited a free and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices for eight decades. He alleged that generations have endured illegal occupation, arbitrary detention, extrajudicial killings, and other human rights violations. India has consistently rejected Pakistan's claims, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
