Stray Dogs Bite Over 20 Commuters at Chennai Central Station in Two Months
Times of India · india
At least 20 commuters have been bitten by stray dogs at Chennai Central Railway Station in the past two months, with four to five complaints reported weekly. One passenger was bitten early Saturday morning and found the station's emergency unit lacked anti-rabies vaccines. Despite Supreme Court orders in November 2025 for civic bodies to remove stray dogs from public places, the issue persists. While the Greater Chennai Corporation conducts sterilization drives, railway officials state these measures are insufficient to prevent aggressive dog bites.
