Bangladesh-born author Taslima Nasrin has expressed her strong desire to permanently reside in Kolkata, citing her wish to remain closer to Bengali language and culture. Nasrin stated that she left Europe and America for Kolkata, and even after being driven out, she stayed in Delhi with the intention of returning to Bengal. She expressed gratitude for being allowed to visit Kolkata and hopes to stay if permitted by the Chief Minister.
