सबरीमाला मंदिर के स्ट्रांग रूम से 2012 में तमिलनाडु के भक्तों द्वारा दान किया गया 446 ग्राम का सोने का मुकुट गायब हो गया है। चौंकाने वाली बात यह है कि हाई कोर्ट के आदेश पर हुई जांच में उसकी जगह एक नकली मुकुट मिला। इसी के साथ एक दूसरे स्ट्रांग रूम से 4 ग्राम की सोने की चेन भी गायब पाई गई है। इस घटना ने मंदिर की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं।
