पुणे बर्डिंग कम्युनिटी के 100 से ज़्यादा बर्डर्स ने दिन भर चली मैराथन में हिस्सा लिया, पुणे क्षेत्र के कई हॉटस्पॉट में 254 पक्षी प्रजातियों की पहचान की। प्रतिभागियों ने घास के मैदान, आर्द्रभूमि और पश्चिमी घाट के जंगलों सहित विभिन्न आवासों का पता लगाया, और कई पैसेज माइग्रेंट्स को देखा। खास तौर पर देखे गए पक्षियों में यूरेशियन हॉबी, ग्रेट ग्रे श्राइक और इंडियन वल्चर शामिल थे, जिनकी आबादी घट रही है। इस कार्यक्रम ने प्रवासी पक्षियों और स्थानीय जैव विविधता के लिए पुणे के आवासों, विशेषकर घास के मैदानों के पारिस्थितिक महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला।
