Hurricane Rachel has intensified into a Category 3 storm off Mexico's Pacific coast, according to the National Hurricane Center. Located approximately 390 kilometers off the southern tip of Baja California, the storm is moving slowly westward and is expected to strengthen further before weakening over the weekend. Authorities have issued warnings for life-threatening surf along Mexico's coast. This comes as northern Mexico and parts of the US Southwest are still recovering from flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Polo.
