NCW chief Vijaya Rahatkar stated that women must feel secure using app-based cabs to pursue their careers without worry. The NCW has issued guidelines for app-based transport services, mandating driver verification, physical SOS buttons, and enhanced night-time safety. These recommendations aim to strengthen safeguards before, during, and after rides, addressing concerns over harassment and safety. Rahatkar emphasized that as more women enter the workforce, ensuring their safe commute is crucial for their professional growth and dignity.
