केंद्रीय मंत्री रामदास आठवले ने सीजेपी द्वारा मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग पर सवाल उठाया, उन्होंने नीट पेपर लीक को लेकर धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की उनकी पिछली मांग का हवाला दिया। आठवले ने कहा कि प्रधान का इस्तीफा स्वीकार कर लिया गया था और सीजेपी की सभी मांगें पूरी की गई थीं, उन्होंने वर्तमान चुनाव विवाद में शामिल होने की उनकी आवश्यकता पर सवाल उठाया। उन्होंने 'वोट चोरी' के आरोपों को खारिज कर दिया और जोर देकर कहा कि चुनाव आयोग स्वतंत्र और पारदर्शी रूप से काम करता है। आठवले ने विरोध प्रदर्शनों के दौरान हिंसा के खिलाफ भी चेतावनी दी, यह कहते हुए कि अधिकारी कानून और व्यवस्था बनाए रखेंगे।
