Seven of the nine individuals killed in recent Manipur violence, including six Nagas and one person of Nepali origin, had their bodies handed over to their families on Sunday. The Makui Village Authority demanded the return of a Naga village guard allegedly beheaded by Kuki militants, stating his head was taken. The authority also alleged churches were looted and burned, and cows stolen. In a separate incident, the body of Sandeep Rai, of Nepali origin, was handed over to his family after he was killed in an ambush.
