Kolkata: Rash Driver Attacks Pedestrians, Thrashes Cop

A violent brawl erupted in Kolkata's Park Street early Sunday morning after a speeding car nearly hit pedestrians. The incident escalated when occupants of the car allegedly assaulted the pedestrians, leaving one with a severe bleeding cut. A home guard officer who intervened to restore order was also thrashed by three men, including one of the pedestrians. Additional police forces arrived to control the situation, and three individuals have been detained for questioning. The investigation is exploring if the erratic driving was an attempt to evade a police checkpoint.

रविवार तड़के कोलकाता की पार्क स्ट्रीट में तेज रफ्तार कार से लगभग राहगीरों को कुचलने के बाद हिंसक झड़प हो गई। मामला तब बढ़ गया जब कार में सवार लोगों ने कथित तौर पर राहगीरों पर हमला कर दिया, जिससे एक व्यक्ति को गंभीर चोट आई और खून बहने लगा। व्यवस्था बहाल करने के लिए बीच-बचाव करने वाले एक होमगार्ड अधिकारी को भी तीन लोगों ने पीटा, जिनमें राहगीरों में से एक भी शामिल था। स्थिति को नियंत्रित करने के लिए अतिरिक्त पुलिस बल पहुंचा, और पूछताछ के लिए तीन लोगों को हिरासत में लिया गया है। जांच में यह पता लगाया जा रहा है कि क्या तेज रफ्तार से गाड़ी चलाना पुलिस चेकपॉइंट से बचने का प्रयास था।
