The newly opened Barapullah Phase-III flyover in Delhi, intended to ease traffic, has instead caused significant congestion across major city roads within days of its launch. Traffic police surveys revealed critical design flaws, including abrupt lane merges and a sharp 90-degree angle where the new spur meets the existing flyover. These bottlenecks funnel traffic into fewer lanes, overwhelming the road network and causing gridlock. The chaos has spilled onto the Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, and other key arteries, with travel times drastically increasing.
