Couple's Fairytale Castle Project 22 Years Later Still Unfinished With 3 of 8 Turrets Complete

Times of India · interesting

An Australian couple, Christina Kent and Francis Shepherd, embarked on building a fairytale castle on five acres of land near Geeveston, Tasmania, 22 years ago. They decided to postpone their wedding until the 27-room, 17-metre-tall structure, named Castle Phoenix, was completed. Despite financial difficulties and health issues, they have used approximately 100,000 bricks. However, the ambitious project remains unfinished, with only three of the eight planned turrets constructed. The couple continues to work on their dream home, which began with Francis's vision inspired by admired buildings.
