Barclays to Invest ₹1,500 Crore More in India Banking Operations

British lender Barclays Bank announced an additional investment of ₹1,500 crore into its India operations on Thursday. This capital infusion is intended to strengthen its investment banking and private banking businesses within the country. The bank stated this reflects a long-term allocation of capital to a market with sustained opportunity, increasing its capacity to support clients. This marks the third capital injection into its India operations in the past five years, bringing its total capital and reserves to ₹16,600 crore.
