India Launches Services Production Index, Shows Strong Growth

India's government has launched the first Index of Services Production (IoSP) to track economic activity. In April, 14 out of 19 formal services sub-sectors posted double-digit growth, with accommodation and food services leading the expansion. Air and railway transport were the only sectors to decline.

भारत सरकार ने आर्थिक गतिविधियों पर नज़र रखने के लिए सेवाओं के उत्पादन का पहला सूचकांक (IoSP) जारी किया है। अप्रैल में, 19 औपचारिक सेवा उप-क्षेत्रों में से 14 में दो अंकों की वृद्धि देखी गई, जिसमें आवास और खाद्य सेवाएं सबसे आगे रहीं। हवाई और रेल परिवहन ही ऐसे क्षेत्र थे जिनमें गिरावट आई।
