YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Detained by Police Ahead of Protest

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee alleged that around 20 people, including police personnel in plainclothes, entered his house and detained him early. He claimed his mother was pushed aside and he was dragged out of his bedroom. Rathee was released early Sunday morning after being detained ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The demonstration was called to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral roll irregularities.

यूट्यूबर ध्रुव राठी ने आरोप लगाया कि सादे कपड़ों में पुलिसकर्मियों समेत करीब 20 लोग उनके घर में घुस आए और उन्हें सुबह-सुबह हिरासत में ले लिया। उन्होंने दावा किया कि उनकी माँ को धक्का दिया गया और उन्हें उनके बेडरूम से घसीट कर बाहर निकाला गया। दिल्ली के जंतर मंतर में एक नियोजित विरोध प्रदर्शन से पहले हिरासत में लिए जाने के बाद राठी को रविवार तड़के रिहा कर दिया गया। यह प्रदर्शन कथित चुनावी सूची की अनियमितताओं को लेकर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग के लिए बुलाया गया था।
