Ethiopian marathon runner Ruti Aga has received a six-year ban from athletics after being found guilty of doping and tampering with the anti-doping process. She tested positive for the banned substance methylprednisolone following a race in China. Aga claimed she had a prescription for knee pain, but investigators discovered the clinic did not exist and the prescription was signed by a non-doctor family member. The ban includes two years for the substance use and an additional four years for tampering, totaling six years.
