Court Calls Police 'Best Efforts' a Mockery in MCOCA Case

A Delhi court has severely criticized the police for their "evasive" conduct in a MCOCA case, where accused individuals remained at large for nearly six years. The court noted that this prolonged delay rendered the stringent law ineffective and frustrated its purpose. Despite MCOCA being invoked in September 2020, the accused were only arrested in February and April 2026, having allegedly continued criminal activities in the interim.

दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने MCOCA मामले में पुलिस के 'टालमटोल' वाले रवैये की कड़ी आलोचना की है, जहाँ आरोपी लगभग छह साल तक फरार रहे। अदालत ने कहा कि इस लंबी देरी ने कड़े कानून को अप्रभावी बना दिया और इसके उद्देश्य को विफल कर दिया। सितंबर 2020 में MCOCA लागू करने के बावजूद, आरोपियों को फरवरी और अप्रैल 2026 में ही गिरफ्तार किया गया, जबकि उन्होंने कथित तौर पर इस बीच आपराधिक गतिविधियों को जारी रखा था।
