DMK president M K Stalin has alleged a large-scale scam in Tamil Nadu's proposal to purchase electricity from private generators at high rates. He pointed to media reports about Kerala's electricity board chairperson's removal for allegedly rejecting a cheaper power purchase offer. Stalin questioned why Tamil Nadu could not access power at lower rates available in neighbouring Kerala. He suspects irregularities in the state government's decision to buy electricity at significantly higher prices, demanding an independent and transparent investigation.

DMK अध्यक्ष एम. के. स्टालिन ने निजी जनरेटरों से ऊंचे दामों पर बिजली खरीदने के तमिलनाडु के प्रस्ताव में बड़े पैमाने पर घोटाले का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने केरल के बिजली बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष को कथित तौर पर सस्ती बिजली खरीद पेशकश को अस्वीकार करने के लिए हटाए जाने की मीडिया रिपोर्टों का हवाला दिया। स्टालिन ने सवाल उठाया कि तमिलनाडु पड़ोसी केरल में उपलब्ध कम दरों पर बिजली क्यों नहीं खरीद सकता। उन्हें राज्य सरकार के काफी ऊंचे दामों पर बिजली खरीदने के फैसले में अनियमितताओं का संदेह है और उन्होंने एक स्वतंत्र और पारदर्शी जांच की मांग की है।
