400-500 Hydrogen Buses By 2030

India aims to have 400 to 500 hydrogen-powered buses and trucks operating by the end of 2030, according to Abhay Bakre, Mission Director of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This initiative prioritizes heavy-duty vehicles, with 70 buses and trucks already sanctioned for trials. Bakre anticipates the operating costs of hydrogen buses will soon match conventional diesel buses. Twenty highways have also been identified for hydrogen fuelling station trials to assess scalability.
