UP Police Budget Jumps 2.7x in 9 Years Amid Modernisation Push

The Uttar Pradesh police department's budget has seen a significant increase, rising from ₹16,280.05 crore in 2017-18 to ₹43,891.36 crore in 2026-27, nearly 2.7 times higher. This expansion is attributed to a major modernisation drive, including large-scale recruitment of over 2.26 lakh personnel and the establishment of new specialised units like cybercrime and anti-human trafficking stations. Funding for mobility and equipment has also surged, alongside infrastructure development with new police stations and outposts. The government highlights these efforts as key to enhancing policing capacity across the state.

उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस विभाग के बजट में भारी बढ़ोतरी हुई है, जो 2017-18 में ₹16,280.05 करोड़ से बढ़कर 2026-27 में ₹43,891.36 करोड़ हो गया है, जो लगभग 2.7 गुना ज्यादा है। इस विस्तार का श्रेय बड़े पैमाने पर आधुनिकीकरण को दिया जा रहा है, जिसमें 2.26 लाख से अधिक कर्मियों की भर्ती और साइबर अपराध और मानव तस्करी विरोधी स्टेशनों जैसी नई विशेष इकाइयों की स्थापना शामिल है। गतिशीलता और उपकरणों के लिए धन में भी वृद्धि हुई है, साथ ही नए पुलिस स्टेशनों और चौकियों के साथ बुनियादी ढांचे का विकास भी हुआ है। सरकार इन प्रयासों को राज्य भर में पुलिसिंग क्षमता बढ़ाने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण बताती है।
