Retired Official Loses ₹2.36 Crore in Digital Arrest

Cyber Crime Police in Sonbhadra have arrested three individuals, including the alleged mastermind, in connection with a scam that defrauded a retired official of ₹2.36 crore. The fraudsters posed as senior judicial and government officials, using deepfake technology and forged documents to digitally arrest the victim. Police have frozen ₹75 lakh of the defrauded amount and recovered a car, cash, and fake identity cards. The scam was uncovered when an SBI branch manager alerted authorities about the victim's suspicious, large money transfers.

सोनभद्र साइबर क्राइम पुलिस ने एक बड़े घोटाले में तीन लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है, जिसमें एक रिटायर्ड अधिकारी से ₹2.36 करोड़ की ठगी हुई थी। ठगों ने खुद को बड़े सरकारी अधिकारी बताकर, डीपफेक तकनीक और नकली कागजात का इस्तेमाल किया। पुलिस ने ₹75 लाख फ्रीज कर दिए हैं और एक कार, नकदी व नकली पहचान पत्र बरामद किए हैं। एसबीआई मैनेजर की सूचना पर यह मामला खुला।
