IDBI Bank Disinvestment: Employees' Service Conditions To Remain Unchanged

The Indian government has assured IDBI Bank employees that their service conditions will remain unchanged following the disinvestment of a majority stake to Canada's Fairfax Financial Holdings. DIPAM Secretary Arunish Chawla stated that the strategic buyer cannot alter or adversely affect existing employee terms as per the share purchase agreement. This assurance comes amidst protests and a planned strike by bank employees in early November. Chawla also clarified that a separate pension fund has been set aside for pensioners, and all commitments will be honored.

भारतीय सरकार ने IDBI बैंक के कर्मचारियों को भरोसा दिलाया है कि कनाडा की Fairfax Financial Holdings को बहुमत हिस्सेदारी बेचने के बाद उनकी सेवा शर्तें नहीं बदलेंगी। DIPAM सचिव अरुणिश चावला ने कहा कि शेयर खरीद समझौते के अनुसार, रणनीतिक खरीदार मौजूदा कर्मचारियों की शर्तों को बदल या प्रतिकूल रूप से प्रभावित नहीं कर सकता है। यह आश्वासन नवंबर की शुरुआत में बैंक कर्मचारियों के विरोध प्रदर्शन और नियोजित हड़ताल के बीच आया है। चावला ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि पेंशनभोगियों के लिए एक अलग पेंशन फंड अलग रखा गया है, और सभी प्रतिबद्धताओं का सम्मान किया जाएगा।
