Election Commissioners' Complaint Against EC Officer Ignored By Cabinet Secretariat

The Cabinet Secretariat did not act on complaints filed by two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, against a senior Election Commission official. The Secretariat stated the complaints were made in their personal capacity and without an official EC communication, making action inappropriate. The Election Commissioners had alleged that senior official Manish Garg overstepped his authority by issuing an order regarding work allocation without consulting senior officials. They claimed this violated the Chief Election Commissioner Act, 2023.

कैबिनेट सचिवालय ने दो चुनाव आयुक्तों, सुखबीर सिंह संधू और विवेक जोशी, द्वारा एक वरिष्ठ चुनाव आयोग अधिकारी के खिलाफ की गई शिकायतों पर कोई कार्रवाई नहीं की। सचिवालय ने कहा कि शिकायतें उनकी व्यक्तिगत क्षमता में की गई थीं और चुनाव आयोग के आधिकारिक संचार के बिना, इसलिए कार्रवाई अनुचित थी। चुनाव आयुक्तों ने आरोप लगाया था कि वरिष्ठ अधिकारी मनीष गर्ग ने वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों से सलाह किए बिना कार्य आवंटन के संबंध में आदेश जारी कर अपने अधिकार क्षेत्र का उल्लंघन किया था। उन्होंने दावा किया कि यह मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त अधिनियम, 2023 का उल्लंघन था।
