Anti-drug activist Parwinder Singh Jhota was shot dead in Mansa, Punjab, after reportedly confronting a shopkeeper about drug sales. The incident was captured on a Facebook Live video. Following the murder, BJP President Nitin Naveen questioned the Aam Aadmi Party government's law and order situation, stating that even those fighting against drugs are not safe. He reminded the AAP of their pre-election promise to make Punjab drug-free. Opposition parties have also criticised the Bhagwant Mann government over the deteriorating security situation.

पंजाब के मानसा में नशा विरोधी कार्यकर्ता परविंदर सिंह झोटा की एक दुकानदार से नशे की बिक्री को लेकर कथित तौर पर भिड़ने के बाद गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई। यह घटना फेसबुक लाइव वीडियो में कैद हो गई। हत्या के बाद, बीजेपी अध्यक्ष नितिन नवीन ने आम आदमी पार्टी सरकार की कानून-व्यवस्था की स्थिति पर सवाल उठाया, यह कहते हुए कि नशे के खिलाफ लड़ने वाले भी सुरक्षित नहीं हैं। उन्होंने आप को पंजाब को नशा मुक्त बनाने के अपने चुनाव-पूर्व वादे की याद दिलाई। विपक्षी दलों ने भी भगवंत मान सरकार की बिगड़ती सुरक्षा स्थिति की आलोचना की है।
