US President Donald Trump has unveiled plans for a $15 billion steel complex in Iowa, set to be the largest in US history. The project will be developed by Mesabi Metallics, a subsidiary of India's Essar Group. This initiative is part of Essar's broader $18 billion investment in the United States. The Iowa plant will utilize iron ore from Mesabi Metallics' new Minnesota mine, creating an integrated supply chain. First steel production is anticipated in 2030, with the facility expected to generate over 1,750 jobs.
