Sanmar Chairman Vijay Sankar to Lead FICCI in its Centenary Year

Vijay Sankar, Chairman of The Sanmar Group, has been appointed President-Elect of FICCI for 2026-27. He will take over from Anant Goenka following the chamber's annual general meeting in November. Sankar's selection marks the return of a Tamil Nadu-based industrialist to the presidency of the apex business chamber after more than two decades. Founded in 1927, FICCI is one of India's oldest and largest industry associations. Sankar, a chartered accountant with an MBA from Northwestern University, also holds honorary consul duties.
