Vijay asserted that TVK follows Anna's tenets by providing opportunities for the poor, contrasting it with the DMK's alleged family hegemony.

तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री सी. जोसेफ विजय अपनी टीवीके पार्टी को एआईएडीएमके का उत्तराधिकारी बता रहे हैं। उन्होंने दिवंगत नेताओं जयललिता और एम.जी. रामचंद्रन की तारीफ की। उन्होंने टीवीके उम्मीदवार सत्यभामा के एआईएडीएमके से पाला बदलने को सही ठहराया। कहा कि एआईएडीएमके नेतृत्व के डीएमके से संभावित गठजोड़ के कारण उन्होंने यह फैसला लिया। सत्यभामा, जो एक प्रचार कार्यक्रम के दौरान रो पड़ी थीं, ने दावा किया कि उन्हें दलबदल के लिए ऑनलाइन गाली दी जा रही है। विजय ने कहा कि टीवीके अन्ना के सिद्धांतों का पालन करती है और गरीबों को अवसर देती है, जबकि डीएमके पर परिवारवाद का आरोप लगाया।
