West Bengal established 19 appellate tribunals to resolve voter list disputes, but at least three are currently vacant. This has led to approximately 38 lakh voter appeals remaining pending, causing significant concern among affected citizens. The Election Commission is awaiting recommendations from the Calcutta High Court for new appointments to fill these critical positions. With a low disposal rate of under three percent, clearing the existing backlog could take over a decade.

पश्चिम बंगाल ने मतदाता सूची विवादों को सुलझाने के लिए 19 अपीलीय न्यायाधिकरण स्थापित किए थे, लेकिन फिलहाल कम से कम तीन खाली हैं। इसके कारण लगभग 38 लाख मतदाता अपीलें लंबित पड़ी हैं, जिससे प्रभावित नागरिकों में काफी चिंता है। चुनाव आयोग इन महत्वपूर्ण पदों को भरने के लिए कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय से नई नियुक्तियों की सिफारिशों का इंतजार कर रहा है। तीन प्रतिशत से कम के निपटान दर के साथ, मौजूदा बैकलॉग को साफ करने में एक दशक से अधिक का समय लग सकता है।
