Doctors at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad have successfully reconstructed the windpipe of a 20-year-old man, Sandeep, who had suffered from severe tracheal narrowing. Following seven unsuccessful procedures and the use of a Montgomery tube, surgeons removed a 4-cm obstructed section and reconnected the airway. This complex surgery, performed free of cost on September 30, has resolved Sandeep's breathing difficulties and wheezing. His ordeal began in 2018 after consuming pesticide, leading to a tracheostomy and subsequent complications. The successful procedure offers him a chance at normal breathing.
