Hundreds of Indonesian students took to the streets across multiple cities, including Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Makassar, to voice concerns over escalating living costs, frequent forest fires, and corruption. The protests coincided with President Prabowo Subianto marking two years in office. Demonstrators in Jakarta called for government action on the handling of forest fires, which have caused toxic haze and health concerns, and the rising cost of living. Greenpeace activists also protested the government's failure to curb wildfires, leading to the detention of at least six activists.
